One intrepid reader (maybe the only reader) asks, “So what’s a bloggle?” A fair question.
When naming this site I tried to convey it’s purpose, it’s attitude, and something about the atmosphere in which it lives. It’s purpose? It’s a weblog, or “blog”. [What’s a blog? Read Rebecca Blood’s history and perspective of weblogs. Good stuff.] It’s attitude? A little bit playful, maybe. Irreverent, certainly. The atmosphere? (Ah! The atmosphere!) Sorry. What I meant to convey is that it exists in a complex environment. We’re all trying to ferret out what the Internet and the web really mean, and how each can be used most effectively. It’s puzzling. Mind boggling, even.
Ergo: Blog + playful + boggling = Bloggle.
That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
