In general, all of the good coffee houses use La Marzocco espresso machines. If they also have a La Marzocco Swift grinder, then there is an excellent chance they have very good drinks. My kitchen. I make a decent cappuccino, but I don't have the chops of 99% of the folks who are members in the <a href="http://www.baristaguild.org/" rel="nofollow">Barista's Guild</a>. Of course I'd *love* to find a local coffee house that consistently delivers the goods... The best coffee experience I've had in a Vermont cafe / coffee house / espresso bar has been at the Old Brick Cafe in Williston. I suspect that's because Don Holly (our quality guru at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and author of the Specialty Coffee Association's textbook on espresso preparation) has been tutoring them.
