Scalzi: On Coffee

Not so long ago I’d written here of John Scalzi’s (then) latest opus — You’re Not Fooling Anyone When You Take Your Laptop to a Coffeeshop: Scalzi on Writing — and in so doing pined for a copy of mine very own. (Not to worry, I managed to get my mitts on a copy of the coveted limited edition.)

Now, in a twisty turn of events, I’ve instigated his evil screed — Scalzi: On Coffee — with a simple but pointy question: What’s with your irrational fear of coffee? Okay, so maybe I also suggested that he perhaps had unfortunate encounter with a can of Folgers as a child… or, actually, that’s exactly what I suggested.

His response is acerbic, and funny and — methinks — revealing. As I point out yonder, I suspect our friend John is a supertaster.

I should point out, too, that it’s only fair that John should poke sticks at my favorite bean, as I recently had occasion — and used it — to poke fun at his latest imaginary book.

I loves me the Internets.
